![]() It's biggest point in favour is the ability to create a DTS surround mix on a CD-R that will play in full surround on a suitably equipped DVD player with DTS decoders in the AV amp. To be honest, DTS is probably not worth the bother when getting started. It only uses PCM or MLP (a lossless format that repacks the bitstream into a smaller space, but does NOT throw away any audio) I think you are getting confused with Audio on DVD-Video.ĭVD-Audio is a totally different animal. DTS is an optional component for DVD-Video, as it is a lossy codec along the lines of Dolby Digital. It is very limited in it's scope however.ĭTS is NOT supported under DVD-Audio. ![]() Sonic Scenarist at $30,000 and TMPGEnc DVD Authoring at a much more reasonable $100. Personally, I know of 2 apps that support it. I am one of those who has shelled out the $2000 for the SurCode DTS-DVD.
